Patience and Perseverance
As Muslims, we shouldn’t let our emotions get the better of us. It’s tough for us young Muslims to look at the tragedies that befall us in our everyday lives and not feel hopeless and despair. But as being good believers, we should be patient and
strong and put our faith in Allah (SWT) and not let ourselves become downhearted and helpless. We should keep doing what Allah (SWT) has ordered us to do; put our trust in him, perform good deed, be truthful, and beat these trials with patience and perseverance.
Usually when a tragedy or a downfall overtakes us, we often forget
that Allah (SWT) is testing us. We become upset and complain about our problems
and say “why me”? Allah has informed us that every single soul will be tested
at one point or another, so we too will be tried and tested at some moment in
our lives. There are so many verses in which Allah (SWT) has revealed to us
that remind us Muslims to be patient and put our faith in our Lord during those
hard circumstances.
"Seek Allah's help with patient
perseverance and prayer. It is indeed hard except for those who are
humble." (2:45)
"Be sure We shall test you with something
of fear and hunger, some loss in goods, lives, and the fruits of your toil. But
give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere. Those who say, when
afflicted with calamity, 'To Allah we belong, and to Him is our return.' They
are those on whom descend blessings from their Lord, and mercy. They are the
ones who receive guidance." (2:155-157)
We should always remember that we as young Muslims are living a better
life than those suffering around us with calamities. There are people who have
no food or shelter and yet they put their trust in Allah (SWT) and do not
complain. We should always be humble because our Lord knows what is best for us
and we should put our faith in him to do what is right.

you start wondering where Allah is, just remember, the Teacher is always quiet
during a test.” -Nouman Ali Khan
